A foundational study of all chapters of criminal offenses can be outlined as follows: Homicide and its types , blood money (di y ya), reciprocal punishments (qiṣāṣ), punishment for adultery, punishment for intoxication, punishment for theft, punishment for highway robbery, self-defence (ṣiyāl), renegades (bugha), punishment for apostasy, punishment for abandoning prayer, jihad, regulations concerning prisoners of war, distribution of war booty, poll tax (jizya) , hunting and slaughtering, dietary regulations, sacrificial offerings, sacrifice of for birth celebrations , competitions, judicial procedures, testimonies , manumission (freeing slaves), allegiance (wala'), and other rulings related to slavery.
