Official description

The definition of the science of jurispruden ce (uṣūl al-fiqh), its history, benefits, schools, and literature in the field. An introductory study of the terminology and chapters of uṣūl al-fiqh, including: legal rulings, meanings of terms: (literal and figurative meanings, general and specific, absolute and restricted, command s and prohibition s , textual evidence and its apparent and interpreted meanings, and general and detailed statements), abrogation (naskh), actions of Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace), conflict and precedence (tarjīḥ), consensus (ijmā ‘), analogical reasoning (qiyās), disputed evidence, independent reasoning (ijtihād), and following other jurists (taqlīd).
