About This Event

The Prophet ﷺ taught us that visiting the sick is one of the greatest rights we owe one another as Muslims and a powerful act of mercy, compassion, and community. This summer, MCC is launching a renewed Sick Visitation Initiative to help revive this beautiful Prophetic tradition within our congregation. Join us for an inspiring evening as we introduce this new community service and invite volunteers to join this meaningful effort. Whether visiting a community member in the hospital, at home, or offering support to families during times of illness, volunteers will learn how to provide comfort with sincerity, wisdom, and Islamic etiquette. Friday, July 31 | 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. | MCC Conference Room | Join us in-person or virtually at mcceastbay.org/live During this orientation, our speakers will share practical guidance on: The virtues and rewards of visiting the sick in Islam Proper adab (etiquette) when visiting those who are ill What to say, the du'as and Qur'anic verses to recite, and how to offer meaningful support Supporting families through serious illness, hospice, and end-of-life care How volunteers can participate in MCC's Sick Visitation Initiative If you have a heart for serving others and would like to bring comfort to members of our community during their most difficult moments, we encourage you to attend. Together, we can revive a beloved Sunnah and strengthen the bonds of compassion that unite our community. We welcome anyone interested in volunteering or simply learning more about this important act of worship. May Allah accept our efforts and make us a source of comfort and mercy for others.
