Egypt advances for the next round with an unbeaten record after 1-1 with Iran. I was the only Egyptian in our watch party (and perhaps the only one in the world) applauding Iran when they scored 2-1 at the end as I wanted them to qualify with us (we would qualify anyway), given all they have been through. But the goal was ruled offside. I feel deeply sorry for this team, but happy we qualified unbeaten. Bring on Australia! Only problem is if we beat them, then it’s MESSI next, lol. Congrats Egypt! 🇪🇬 Hard Luck Iran 🇮🇷

Went from pre-diabetic to diabetic in this game. But Egypt came back from 1-0 to win 3-1 and top its group and near guarantee qualification to the knockout round for first time. Amazing second half and well worth the stress and completes father’s day. Let’s go Egypt! 🇪🇬✊🏼 (Photo not from this game)
