Shaykh Jafar Hawa
Imam Jafar Hawa is a full-time Imam at the Mosque Foundation in Bridgeview, IL (since May 2024). Born in Amman, Jordan in 1989, he comes from a distinguished scholarly family — his grandfather, Sheikh Sa'id Hawa, was a renowned scholar of Islamic jurisprudence, and his father, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Sa'id Hawa, specialized in Hanafi law. He memorized the Qur'an by age 14, received ijaza at 17, and won a national Qur'an competition at 21, and holds a bachelor's degree in Islamic Banking (2014). He previously served as Imam at the Prayer Center of Orland Park (2015–2024) and as Executive Director of the Quran Academy (2016–2024), teaching some 600 students. His expertise spans Qur'anic sciences (tajweed, memorization, ijaza), family and marriage counseling, Islamic finance, and Arabic Islamic studies.

Hafiz of the Qur'an by age 14; received ijaza in Qur'an at 17; national Qur'an-competition winner at 21. B.A. in Islamic Banking (2014).
