Organized garment workers with UNITE!, ran citizenship programs at Erie Neighborhood House, served as Chief of Staff to Cook County Commissioner Chuy García, directed immigrant and refugee services at Illinois DHS, and led the Illinois Department of Labor's Fair Labor Standards Division. First elected to the Illinois House in 2022; re-elected 2024.
