BiographyJessica Vasquez is the incumbent Cook County commissioner for the 8th District, appointed May 4, 2025 - the first woman and first Colombian American to represent the district. She previously served as chief of staff to 35th Ward Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa and worked at Adler University, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, and People's Action Institute. Born and raised in Belmont Cragin, she lives in Logan Square.
