BiographyMichael Scott, Jr. is the incumbent Cook County commissioner for the 2nd District, appointed July 30, 2024, and retained in the November 2024 election. He served two terms as 24th Ward alderman (2015-2022), including as chair of the City Council Committee on Education and Child Welfare, spent 12 years with the Chicago Park District, and served on the Chicago Board of Education (2022-2023). A North Lawndale native, he is a Morehouse College graduate.
