BiographyToni Preckwinkle is the incumbent president of the Cook County Board of Commissioners, first elected in 2010 and now seeking a fifth term in the November 3, 2026 general election. A Democrat, she served as 4th Ward alderman on the Chicago City Council from 1991 to 2010 and taught high school history for ten years in Chicago schools.
