Pilgrim review 1MCDC UK6655 saudia airline via Al hijaz MCDC
- Overall experience
- recommend with cautions
- Communication
- Communication at times was great, but at times very poor. Tour guide amjadur rahman. Overall communication could be more clear, more honest. They could really make the pilgrims feels special especially when seeing other friends/families from other providers being felt special
- Mina & Azizyah
- Mina accommodation was good. Muaisim. shifting was poor.
- Dedicated scholar
- Nope, english speaking scholar who took authority of the camp would be appreciated by many pilgrims. 10 mins talks after salah, talk on the next day and importance. we’ve all done seminar and been to local hajj seminars prior to coming but on the day in real time would be great too as you have all momentum at this point.
- Muzdalifah
- Good.
- Transportation
- transportation was good. i appreciate there is 1.5mil people shifting from one place to another. but our aziziyah to mina was very poor, we were told to be in ihram for 10:30pm, then told 3/4am, then told after fajr, but we didn’t set off till 8am. whereas other providers and packages told there pilgrims 3am and they were in the coach 30/45mins after that time. we were told to be in ihram nearly 10 hours to the actual time we went to mina.
- Guidance & reflection
- Alhamdulillah we as a couple learnt a lot and attended seminars in person prior to Hajj. Like mentioned above I think each camp should definitely have a scholar assigned as it helps boost spiritually in real time. Logistical guide could have been a lot better from MCDC / al hijaz tours / sakeenah tours, i think they need more people on the ground, for the Saudi team to work alongside the UK team better.
- Would you recommend?
- Yes and No, for myself I took on my own initiative at each point. But from an outside point of view i think it is very clear light and day between providers and services. Logistically, communication, scholar wise it seems other providers and agencies have got a better grasp of this. for eg, my wife in whilst in aziziyah was placed in a room with tunisians who weren’t even part of our package. One thing we were really excited for was a welcome walk in entrance that you see on every pilgrims videos, this didn’t happen in Makkah or Madinah. and then you see other providers having this at each place, makkah madinah aziziyah and upon leaving too.

- Overall experience
- Don’t recommend at all
- Communication
- They were not accountable and avoided the conversations at all cost
- Mina & Azizyah
- We had food and toilet issues in Mina.We were promised with A category and was accomadated with a lower package
- Dedicated scholar
- Yes
- Muzdalifah
- No accommodation,no arrangements.No transportation as well
- Transportation
- We had buses arranged but no bus from muzdalifa to Mina tent and there were many who fainted and the journey from Makkah to Madinah in the bus was very uncomfortable and tiring
- Guidance & reflection
- The religious scholars did their best to explain the Hajj rituals and provided useful guidance on the spiritual aspects of the pilgrimage. Their efforts helped us understand the significance of the various rites and increased our confidence in performing them correctly. However, the practical and logistical guidance throughout the journey was lacking. There was often confusion regarding schedules, accommodation arrangements, transportation, and food distribution. Communication was not always clear, and pilgrims were frequently left to figure things out on their own. Better organization, clearer instructions, and more proactive support from the logistics team would have greatly improved the overall experience. While the spiritual guidance was appreciated, the shortcomings in planning and coordination had a negative impact on the overall Hajj experience.
- Would you recommend?
- No, I would not recommend Sky World Travels Colombo (partnered with Rehlat Wa Manafe Tourism) based on my Hajj experience. Many of the services promised before departure were not delivered as expected. We were made to share a room with five people, resulting in overcrowded and uncomfortable accommodation. We were also promised Category A Mina tents, but the arrangements provided did not match what had been advertised. In addition, food distribution was poorly organized, with long queues and unnecessary delays during an already physically demanding pilgrimage. Overall, the trip lacked proper planning and coordination, causing significant stress and disappointment. As Hajj is a once-in-a-lifetime journey for many pilgrims, I expected a much higher standard of service and transparency than what was provided.
