Pilgrim review 1SEERA MAWASIM; Hisar Tours
- Overall experience
- Don’t recommend at all
- Communication
- No involvement guide knew nothing with regards to basic aspects like transport etc
- Mina & Azizyah
- Muasim shifting package. Mina tent was excellent this service obviously provided for by nusuk not al Hussam or Seera Mawasim
- Dedicated scholar
- No and this was very upsetting. We had no spiritual guide
- Muzdalifah
- We slept on the road. The road was on an incline. I woke up with a stiff neck and sore body
- Transportation
- No transport was provided for me. But I had chosen transport in the nusuk platform. I paid for transport but none was provided.
- Guidance & reflection
- I can’t answer this because I had no spiritual guide. We were all on our own and had to figure out everything by ourselves
- Would you recommend?
- I think overall the seerah group was ok it all comes down to the agency you are linked with that partners up with Seerah Mawasim. In my case the agency was Al Hussam from South Africa. We booked Mawasim smart wonderful package with good hotels. The service in the Makkah hotel was good but the breakfast and dinner was not up to standard of a five star hotel. I would not recommend to book with Al Hussam linked to Seerah because there was no spiritual guide, no guidance during 5 days of hajj, no communication with regards to moving from hotels and the days of hajj via bus no communication was presented to us. Any information we required could not be presented to us we had to wait minutes before the event to find out okay you are moving to Mina etc. contacting Seera group direct via the WhatsApp lines and emails available is of no benefit and use. They refer you to the guide and the guide Ml Suheil Patel he did not have answers for us. We try to contact seerah they tell us contact nusuk. We contact nusuk they say contact Seera it was a big circle of being pushed around from one provider to the other in the end no answers were achieved.

Pilgrim review 2Seera Mawasim via Al Hussam
- Overall experience
- Strongly Recommend
- Communication
- Very good communication.
- Mina & Azizyah
- Alhamdulliah Mina set up was great. Everything we needed and help along the way for any questions.
- Dedicated scholar
- Yes.
- Muzdalifah
- Alhamdulliah. No complaints. DST/Seera did a great job
- Transportation
- Alhamdulliah. There were a few moments of confusion around when buses would leave or from where, but I don’t believe that was in control of Serra/DST. The team did a great job of keeping the group together and getting us to our destinations as quickly & safely as possible.
- Guidance & reflection
- Scholars and guides were always available in person or chat. Always friendly and took the time to explain and answer any questions. All scholars were extremely knowledgeable and were intentional about us making the most of your time during hajj. Constantly reminding us to do dikhr, short reminders after namaz, etc.
- Would you recommend?
- Yes.

Pilgrim review 3Seera via DST
- Overall experience
- Strongly recommend
- Communication
- The communication from DST and our group guides was great. DST was there for us via telegram all the way from trying to get our nusuk application approved all the way until we were able to purchase, and then also in the fiqh/logistics/spiritual prep for hajj. And then once we purchased a package our group guides were there for us every step along the way until we made it home. Seera was a little tougher to get help from because even their english speaking agents didn't speak english very well. But with the help of our Nusuk IDs, google translate, google maps, and assistance from our DST guides we didn't run into any major issues.
- Mina & Azizyah
- Non-shifting Azizziyah based package (Essentials A with a cost of a bit under $10k per person depending on flights). Our hotel for our Makkah stay was permanently in Azizziyah. Our Azizziyah hotel was very close to the jamarat and that made it very convenient. We would rest there each day after jamarat before returning to mina. Although the hotel in Azizziyah was rated 4 stars it was not as spacious or as nice as our 2 star hotel in Madinah, though both were quad occupancy. We were told to expect roll away beds for 2 of the beds in each hotel room but all rooms had normal beds and were very comfortable, though small. Mina (I was in muasim) was overcrowded as expected. Bathrooms always had a wait, at least for the first couple of days. Food lines were long and there was no clear demarcation for where the line was. Once you got your food you had to walk back through the narrow hallway that was full of people waiting in line and also people getting snacks/tea from the snack stations. On at least 2 occasions the line for food took over an hour and on one occasion they ran out of food. The food did not seem very healthy and they kept running out of fruit, so I ended up mostly just eating snacks that I had brought or that they had in the halls. After Arafah Mina seemed less crowded. Maybe people were spending more time in their hotel rooms or using the bathroom/showering/eating at their hotel/in restaurants. Arafah did not have enough bathrooms and the bathrooms had a clogging issue. There was a mix of western-style toilets (retrofit on what used to be squat platforms) and squat toilets. Squat toilets were superior because they weren't so quick to clog and they were cleaner. I didn't even try to get food there though they did have breakfast and lunch, choosing to eat snacks I had on me and spend my time sleeping to better be able to focus on dua after dhur. There was a bed for everyone, but they were the narrower fold out foam beds rather than the pull out beds we had in our mina camp. It was fine though. They did supply pillows/blankets/sheets. At one point the electricity for the whole camp went out and it did start to get quite hot in our arafah tent, but it was a welcome spiritual reminder and fed our dua.
Pilgrim review 4Seera Mawasim via Dar el Salaam
- Overall experience
- Strongly recommend, it's never perfect but I think they did a great job. Minor things can be corrected
- Communication
- Good to great communication, our guide was very responsive. Again, not perfect, but some things were out of their control.
- Mina & Azizyah
- Mina was very good. Some minor improvements could be made. I had non shifting Majar al kabsh.
- Dedicated scholar
- Yes
- Muzdalifah
- Bathrooms were not being cleaned like Mina and Arafat. Our camp was jam packed which made it hotter than it already was. Floor was hot so sleeping bag provided minimal help. I was concerned about my poessions being on the hot floor all night. The lights were very bright and never turned off which made it even harder to sleep.
- Transportation
- Buses. Good but was sometimes free for all which was very stressful with 4 people and bags. Wasn't always clear which bus was ours. Also wasn't clear how many seats were open or if bus was already full. Seems like easy things to correct. Buses were often late because of various issues.
- Guidance & reflection
- They were very helpful. However, I did a lot of self research and usually used the support to check and supplement my own research.

Pilgrim review 6Seera Mawasim via Hisa Tours
- Overall experience
- Strongly Recommend
- Communication
- Communication was very responsive, webinar series from Ramadan and Q&A sessions were held post webinar. 2 weeks prior to departure Imam/guide for the group selected personally reached out and if we had any questions we could directly contact them through text/call.
- Mina & Azizyah
- Majar Al Kabsh Mina camps were excellent, can't complain. Logistic support from Seera was excellent, the group always had communication on when to head out, when to line up for trains. All transportation to Mashair sites were through train. Aziziyah stays were a little downgrade compared to hotels near Haram and it was expected.
- Dedicated scholar
- Yes the scholars were in the same tents and all the prayers were done by Imam leading for particular tent, we had programs arranged for 8th DH as there were lectures, Qirat and sessions relating Dua. During Arafah day 9th DH the group duas were excellent. We could reach out to Imam any time during those days for questions relating Fiqh/Spirituality.
- Muzdalifah
- Muzdalifah was how it should be under open sky, Seera had their own area setup, where we were guided to for setting up sleeping bags and there was segregation for men and women which was quite good. Snack boxes and drink available for Hujjaj.
- Transportation
- All the transportation arrangements were excellent for Kabsh camp for Mashair sites rail passes were distributed and there were little to no wait times. For Mina to hotels a 30 minute walk or taxi after walking 5-10 minutes as Aziziyah doesn't have a lot of buses during 8th -13th DH days
- Guidance & reflection
- Logistics was a breeze but initiatives had to be taken to make sure men/women were leaving together for Muzdalifa/Jamaraat. Religious scholars were pretty available during Hajj days, there were lectures organized prior to departing for Arafah and Khutba/guidance on day of Arafah. Post prayers there were small reminders regarding significance of staying in Mina with respect to Seerah of prophet. Audio headset devices for days of Umrah, Jamaraat, Tawaf Ifada and other Ziyarah for group to stay together and learn from Imams.
Pilgrim review 7Seera Mawasim via Hisar Tours
- Overall experience
- Won't recommend for last minute packages (72B)
- Communication
- We were on our own most of the times
- Mina & Azizyah
- Click towers hotel was good. Camp 72B was ok, bathrooms were not clean. Beds were congested
- Dedicated scholar
- Last minute scholar with no experience. Other camps from Sara had good scholars
- Muzdalifah
- Good but they tried to put sofa bed which caused issues due to space. No place to reach the sofas though it was empty. A good carpet would have been wonderful instead.
- Transportation
- To and from airport was good. From hotel to Mina was also good. Other places as said 72B was like left out by Sara. We had trains, wait time was more than 2 hours
- Guidance & reflection
- Since we had good Arabic speaking companions, it was good. Overall no complaints except some improvements by Sara for 72B camp.
- Would you recommend?
- Yes, but not for 72B or any last minute camps

- ⭐⭐⭐ 3/5
